For many North American students pursuing advanced academic study and careers in East Asian Art History immersive language training is a substantial element of their preparation. Qualified language programs typically require 9–12 months of structured in country study. The time abroad also offers an essential opportunity for regional and historic exploration to deepen cultural as well as language literacy. To support students with stellar qualifications and clear purpose, Kingfisher has collaborated with the Blakemore Foundation to offer the Blakemore Kingfisher Art History Language Fellowships.
